What you choose and type in the tools never leaves your browser.
Your data
The notes, chords and songs you choose or type are processed on your device. They are not sent to any server.
While you use a tool, what you chose is kept in your browser's session storage for that tab, so reloading doesn't lose it; your browser deletes it when you close the tab. It isn't put in the page address: it only goes there when you copy a link (see below).
Saved in your browser
To remember your settings, the site saves a few small items in your own browser (localStorage), which you can delete at any time by clearing the site data: the theme (tema), the language you chose (idioma), your favorites (favoritos), the tool to open on start (inicio) and, on the Spanish pages, how note names are shown (nombres). What you choose in each tool and full-screen mode are kept only while the tab is open (sessionStorage). All of it stays in your browser.
Statistics
We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to count visits without cookies. On top of that, our own anonymous counter adds up how often each tool is used (for example, “a scale was shown”), with the day and the country, never with what you chose or typed, or your IP address.
That counter adds up, per day: that a tool gave a result, that a result or a link was copied, which tool option was used, which page was picked in the site search, that a search found nothing (without the words searched), and the type of an error in the page (for example, a script blocked by the browser), never its text. Totals older than 13 months are deleted automatically.
Shared links
If you copy a link from a tool, the link carries your choices at the end of the address, after the # sign, so whoever opens it sees the same thing. That part of the address is only read by the browser: it is not sent to our server or to the statistics service. But whoever receives the link will see it (a song you pasted, for example), so only share it if you don't mind.
Your data and your rights
We don't collect anything that identifies you: there are no accounts, no forms that send what you type, no cookies of our own, and the usage counter only keeps anonymous daily totals. So there is no data about you for us to show, correct or delete, and no need to write to us to ask for it.
What the site keeps in your own browser, you can see and delete yourself by clearing this site's data in your browser settings. For the data Google uses for its ads, use My Ad Center and Google's privacy policy.
Advertising
Keys and Scales may show Google AdSense ads to stay free. Google and its partners may use cookies or identifiers to show ads and measure how they perform, including based on your visits to this and other sites. Google's ad code runs on the page, as on any site with AdSense; our own code never sends it, or anyone else, what you choose or type into the tools.
In the European Economic Area, the UK and Switzerland you'll see a message to accept or reject those cookies before they're used. You can read how Google uses that data in How Google uses information from sites that use its services and turn off personalized ads in My Ad Center.
